Electron is accepted into the team, and their adversary reveals himself. It is the evil Lantern! The reason why our heroes look somewhat manga-like is that without their knowledge the Lantern has just sent them into a parallel universe where everyone looks like a manga / anime cartoon.... in fact even Electron on the previous page looks manga-ish for the same reason! It seems like they are doomed never to return to their original universe!
